Tajik deputy foreign minister holds cooperation discussions in Islamabad

DUSHANBE, May 6, 2015, Asia-Plus – Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister Nizomiddin Zohidi has held a number of bilateral meetings in Islamabad, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

On May 4, Zohidi held talks with Pakistani Prime Minister”s National Security Adviser Sartaj Aziz.  Bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan in the fields of education, science, commerce and investment was a major topic of the meeting.

On the same day, Nizomiddin Zohidi held talks with Pakistani Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan.  The two reportedly discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.  They also exchanged views on the trilateral transit trade agreement between Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

On May 4, Tajik deputy foreign minister also held talks with Pakistani Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali.  They discussed state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan in the field of energy.
