DUSHANBE June 27, 2015, Asia-Plus – Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has condemned terror attacks in Kuwait and Tunisia.
In his cable of condolences sent to the President of Tunisia Beji Caid Essebsi on June 27, President Emomali Rahmon, in particular, noted, “We were shocked by a terror attack in Tunis that left dozens dead.”
On the same day, President Emomali Rahmon sent a cable of condolences to the Emir of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah over a terror attack on one of mosques in Kuwait city.
In Tunis, an Interior Ministry spokesman said at least 37 people were killed Friday when two gunmen attacked a tourist hotel in the Tunisian beach resort of Sousse.

reports a suicide bomber killed 27 people when he blew himself up inside a packed Shiite Muslim mosque in Kuwait city during Friday prayers. The Islamic State (IS) militant group claimed responsibility for the attack, which also wounded 227 people. Worshippers were kneeling in prayer when the bomber walked into the Imam al-Sadeq Mosque and detonated his explosives, destroying walls and the ceiling. More than 2,000 people from the Shiite Ja”afari sect were reportedly praying at the mosque.
It was the first suicide bombing at a Shiite mosque in Kuwait and worst militant attack in the country for many years. The majority of Kuwait”s citizen population is Muslim; there are no official figures, but it is estimated that 60%–70% are Sunni and 30%–40% are Shiites.
