Dushanbe. 24 August. “Asia Plus” — In the last days the staff of the Agency for Drug Control in Gorno-Badakhshan under the President of Tajikistan has prevented two attempts of drug running via the Tajik-Afghan border.
As said the Head of the Social Ties of anti-drug agency in Tajikistan Hushnud Rakhmatullaev, the first operation was conducted in the Andarob village of Ishkashim district. The staff of the Agency on suspicions of drug trafficking detained a 39-year-old local resident. There was discovered and seized a bag with the package of 4 dark-brown color substances with a specific smell.
According to the findings of the court expertise, the Office of Administration of large taxpayers of Badakhshan, seized substance is narcotic – hashish – which weighs over 2 kg.
The second operation the staff of the Agency conducted at the night of August 24, together with the soldiers of the Main Directorate of Border Troops SCNS RT. On the territory of the Yomch village of Shugnan area, when trying to transport a large batch of drugs was detained a 40-year-old resident of Afghanistan`s Badakhshan province. Was discovered a bag with more than 12 kilograms of hashish.
In both criminal case under several articles of the Criminal Code – Art. 200 Part 3 of “Illicit trafficing of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances with intent to sell on a large scale”, Art. 289 “Contraband” and Art. 335. “Illegal crossing the state border of the Republic of Tajikistan.”
Currently, operational activities on the establishment of Tajik citizens involved in the crime are caring out.
The detainees are instilled in the temporary detention of the Management Agency.
