Dushanbe. 26 August. “Asia Plus” — Wildlife Festival will take place in the second decade of this year in one of the most beautiful valleys of Pamir – Vezdara located in the Roshtkala district of Badakhshan.
According to the GBAO Head of Environmental Mulkamon Nazaraliev, a key theme of the festival will be traditional Pamir hunting and protection of the wild fauna in the region.
According to him, the one-day environmental education and cultural activity can promote the revival, spreading and transmission of the rich legacy of past generations in hunting, traditional knowledge and experience, old traditions of the Pamir peoples on conservation and wildlife use, as well as the attraction of eco-tourists to the region.
“The festival is held to promote the careful attitude of people to the nature and the use of wildlife resources, attracting the attention of mountain communities to protect the environment, the eradication of poaching and barbaric attitude to wild animals, to attract more supporters to the protection and conservation of local biodiversity, wildlife and living in it wild fauna “- said Nazaraliev.
He noted that the participants of the festival will be the children, adolescents, old hunters, community activists from the region areas. It is expected the participation of numerous foreign guests, especially foreign tourists.
Nazaraliev stressed that in the frames of the festival there will be a concert, an exhibition of folk artists, the performance of local schoolchildren, presentation of the book “The cult and culture of hunting in the Pamir Mountains.” Participants will be shown the hunting kebab, cooked on the stone (sedkabob), hunter`s lodging for the night (haburga), construction of fire with the help of the flint stone, the art of drawing petroglyph on the rocks, vintage wick multuk and old forgotten hunting children game.
Festival organizers is GBAO managing of environment protection, Roshtkala hukumat, Public Association “Kuhhoi Pomir”, the Union of Journalists of Tajikistan, CJSC “TT Mobile”, a hunting company “Leopard” and “East”.
