Today, on September 8, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon congratulated the people of the country with the 24th anniversary of the state Independence Day, which is celebrated on 9th of September.
In his televised message, the Leader of the country called the Independence Day of Tajikistan the greatest and most sacred national holiday.
“The independence gave us historical opportunity to become landlords of our land, to create our own national statehood, to revive our national traditions and values, to implement long-standing aspirations and to establish a free life of our people”, – stated in the message of the President.
In his message E. Rakhmon said that the state and the government of Tajikistan, realizing this great responsibility, are making constant efforts to strengthen political and economic, social and cultural foundations of the state independence, as well as to create favorable conditions for the steady development of all spheres of the state life and society of the country.
The most important achievement in this period is to ensure peace, the salvation of our national statehood from the threat of extinction, our people from the disunity” – said the President.
The president noted that now Tajikistan is taking first steps towards the creation of statehood.
“I am deeply convinced that the proud, honest, patriotic and civilized Tajik people with an awareness of the values and historical importance of the independence and the great achievements of this period will continue sincerely and fully support the policy of the state and the government. Because we still have many problems in the life of society and the state. But at the same time, we are deeply convinced that with the support of our hard-working and tolerant people, with collective and honest work we will overcome all the difficulties, will realize our creative plans and intentions for the prosperity of the native land and the progress of our independent state”, – says the message of the President.
