DUSHANBE, September 25, 2015, Asia-Plus — Afghan drug trafficker has been killed in an armed skirmish on the Tajik-Afghan border in Khatlon province.

An official source at the Main Border Guard Directorate at the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) says the incident took place in the Shahritous district on September 22.

According to him, Tajik border guards on a routine patrol spotted and tried to detain a group of Afghan armed drug traffickers numbering 4-5 people who were illegally crossing border river in late Tuesday.

The trespassers reportedly ignored a command to stop and opened fire.  One trespasser – 45 year-old resident of Afghan Kunduz province Jabbar waladi Aqil – was killed in the skirmish while the others returned to Afghan territory.
