Dushanbe, Seoul vow to boost bilateral cooperation

DUSHANBE, October 6, 2015, Asia-Plus – Nizomiddin Zohidi, 1st Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan, yesterday met in Seoul with Cho Tae-yong, 1st Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Korea, on the sidelines of the South Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two sides discussed issues related to state and prospects of further expansion bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and South Korea.

They also discussed the issue of expansion of the legal foundation of bilateral cooperation between their countries.

reports South Korean ties with Tajikistan have deepened in recent years with the opening of the first Republic of Korea (ROK) Embassy in Dushanbe in 2008.  Seoul reportedly continues to provide assistance primarily through KOICA in the fields of education, health, technology cooperation, industry and energy, and environmental protection.
