DUSHANBE, October 22, 2015, Asia-Plus – Tajik Interior Ministry has established collaboration with Germany’s Hanns Seidel Foundation.

According to the Interior Ministry’s website, senior representatives of the ministry yesterday met here with Dr. Max Georg Meyer, Project Manager of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Central Asia.

In the course of the talks, Tajik Deputy Interior Minister Ikrom Umarzoda reportedly expressed confidence that the Hanns Seidel Foundation representative’s visit to Tajikistna would pave the way for mutually beneficial cooperation.

The meeting resulted in signing of an agreement on cooperation between Tajik Interior Ministry Academy and the Hanns Seidel Foundation.  The agreement provides for bilateral collaboration in preparation of educational programs, publication of curricular materials and professional development of Tajik specialists.

Founded in November 1966, the Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU)-associated Hanns Seidel Foundation is one of the German party-associated foundations.  It is headquartered in Munich. The conference centers in the Banz Abbey and in Wilbad Kreuth are the foundation”s main locations.  It is a member of the Center for European Studies, the official foundation/think tank of the European People”s Party.  It is named after the CSU politician Hanns Seidel.

The Hanns-Seidel-Foundation is one of six non-profit political organizations in the Federal Republic of Germany.  Its large range of political education, founded on the Christian idea of man and humanistic values, promotes citizens’ engagement in democracy, rule of law, and social market economy. With numerous development projects and fosterage of international exchange of opinion, the foundation supports international understanding.  The foundation entertains education centers in Wildbad Kreuth and Kloster Banz, a conference center in Munich and offices in approximately 35 countries around the world.  In the “service of democracy, peace, and development,” the work of the Hanns Seidel Foundation concentrates on the consolidation of free democratic basic order, on the assurance of peace, and on the support for international understanding.
