Large amount of raw opium and hashish seized by drug control officers in Khatlon

DUSHANBE, November 25, 2015, Asia-Plus – Drug control officers have reportedly seized a large amount of raw opium and hashish in Khatlon province.

According to the Drug Control Agency (DCA) press center, a 30-year-old national of Afghanistan and a 23-year-old national of Tajikistan have been detained in the Farkhor district on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking.

Three packages of narcotic drug that tested positive to raw opium weighing 5.732 kilograms, a sack of narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish weighing nearly 11 kilograms and Beretta pistol with two magazines have been confiscated from them.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug traffickers and an investigation is under way.
