On Friday February 17, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received visiting Turkish Deputy Prime Minister, Tugrul Turkesh.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, Rahmon and Turkesh discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey.
Legal foundation of Tajikistan-Turkey cooperation includes more than 80 documents regulating relations between the two countries in the fields of politics, economics, science and culture.
The two sides reportedly noted that despite global financial and economic crisis a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Turkey remained sustainable.
Tajik leader invited Turkey’s investments in development of agriculture, transportation, industry and tourism as well as free economic zones in Tajikistan.
Rahmon and Turkesh also exchanged views on issues related to protecting national values, preventing extremism, terrorism and transnational crime.
Mr. Turkesh heading a number of high level government officials from different Turkish ministries arrived in Dushanbe for intergovernmental meetings and participation in the Tajikistan-Turkey business forum that took place in Dushanbe on February 16.
