By mayor’s decree Poytakht Hotel in Dushanbe has returned to its former name, Dushanbe.
The hotel had been designed by Soviet architect Vil Shelukhin, who was awarded the VDNKh Exhibition Golden Medal for this design in 1969. VDNKh is the Russian abbreviation for the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy.
Besides, the Dushanbe TV Cannel Poytakht was renamed TV Dushanbe.
TV Poytakht was launched as public television channel in 1996. In 2006, by capital mayor’s decree it became the state-run television channel.
