Forty-five female entrepreneurs from the northern Sughd province have been awarded grants for development of their businesses.
The Sughd regional administration has reportedly allocated 350,000 somoni for awarding those grants.
Speaking at the grant-awarding ceremony, the Sughd deputy governor, Ms. Nazira Ghaffori, noted that women entrepreneurs this year had presented interesting projects aiming at promoting development of handicrafts in the province.
They, in particular, presented projects aimed at development of production of adras and satin, carpet weaving, wool processing, clothing manufacture, bread baking, and confectionery production.
For his part, Sughd governor, Mr. Abdurahmon Qodir, noted that the residence of the Sughd regional administration in Khujand would be handed over to the state-run School of Revival of Craftsmanship for the purpose of promoting further development of handicrafts in the province.
