On Wednesday July 26, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon held a government session in a new building of the House of Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, which is located next to “Tajikistan” Hotel.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, the meeting reviewed the results of work carried out over the first six months of this year.
Speaking at the session, President Rahmon noted that Tajikistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) has risen 6.0 percent in six months to July 1, 2017, reaching 24.023 billion somoni.
Over the report period, the budget’s revenue part has received 9.2928 billion somoni, which is 99.5 percent of the target.
The president reportedly pointed out an insufficient use of existing potential for implementation of the national development strategy for the period until 2030 and the medium-term development program for 2016-2020.
The government members discussed and sent a number of draft laws for consideration to the country’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament. Among them are the draft laws on amendments proposed to the country’s laws on the national budget for 2017 and education for adults as well as government’s opinion on amendments proposed to the Constitutional law “On the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region.”
The president ordered relevant ministries and agencies to start preparations for autumn-winter 2017-2018, the website said.
