The chief of police station in Kulob’s Ziraki neighborhood, Bakhtiyor Qalandarov, has been arrested on suspicion of bribery, according to the anticorruption agency press center.
Qalandarov was caught red-handed while taking bribe from local resident T. Qalandarov reportedly demanded 3,400 somoni for not instituting criminal proceedings against T.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the corrupt police officer and an investigation is under way.
