During his working visit to Baljuvon district in Khatlon province, President Emomali Rahmon today attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Baljuvon-Sari Khosor road, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

More than 53 million somoni are expected to be allocated for the construction of this 34-kilomter road.

While in the Sari Khosor jamoat, President Rahmon attended commissioning ceremony of the new maternity department at local hospital.  More than 1.5 million somoni have been allocated for constructing this department and providing it with medical equipment.

The president reportedly donated an ambulance to the Sari Khosor hospital.  

Emomali Rahmon also got acquainted with achievements of Sari Khosor farming units. 

The president called on the Baljuvon authorities to develop tourism in the Sari Khosor Valley.  Seven modern hotels are expected to be built in Sari Khosor in the near future, the website said.  

In 2003, by government’s decree the Sari Khosor Natural Park was established.
