The Minister of Defense of Tajikistan awarded the heads of seven regions of Sogd the rank of reserve officers

Heads of seven districts of Sughd region received new ranks of reserve officers after large-scale military exercises that took place in the north of Tajikistan.

The ranks from lieutenant to lieutenant colonel of the reserve were appropriated by the heads of Sogd districts by the Minister of Defense of the Republic Sherali Mirzo.

Head of the region Abdurahmon Kodiri was awarded with the diploma of the Ministry of Defense. The head of the press center of the defense ministry of the republic Colonel Faridun Mahmadalizoda told "AP".

The exercises were held from August 14 to 17 on the territory of two Sogd polygons – Chorukhdrayron and Nurafshon, with the participation of all the military units of the Sughd garrison, officers of the security agencies, reservists from all regions and cities of the north of Tajikistan. In total, more than 30,000 people, 10 combat aircraft, 200 armored vehicles, 70 artillery, 450 military vehicles were involved in the exercises

Personnel participating in military maneuvers, personally commanded by the Minister of Defense of Tajikistan Sherali Mirzo.

The exercises worked out tactics of encirclement and destruction of armed criminal groups infiltrating the territory of Sogh, questions of organization of territorial defense, mobilization of reserve officers and soldiers.

Summing up the results of the exercises, Sherali Mirzo noted that in order to ensure peaceful life of the population, preserve stability and law and order on the territory of the republic, soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan, representatives of all power structures of the country, reservists of the national army must always be ready for any situations.
