Today in the court of the Shohmansur district, continued the trial of the case of Tatyana Huzhina, accused of smuggling a coin from the times of Tsarist Russia.

At today's meeting, the accused was given the floor. She stated that she had no a malicious intent when exporting the coin, she did not commit the crime intentionally. Tatiana also noted that she loves her homeland (Tajikistan) And hopes for the favor of the court.  

Tatiana Huzhina is charged under articles 32 (attempted crime) and 289 (smuggling) of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan.

It is expected that the verdict will be announced today, at 17.00.

Recall that last Friday a representative of the prosecutor's office asked to punish the accused for 6 years in prison. The representative of the prosecutor's office explained that he asked for such punishment, taking into account the fact that Huzhina has an underage daughter.

Customs Service of Tajikistan detained a 41-year-old Russian citizen Tatyana Huzhina for attempting to export two-kopek copper coins from the country 1823 year of release at the end of June.

On the site of the Tajik customs department it was noted that the detainee attempted to withdraw the coin without filling out the declaration in her luggage and was stopped on a Dushanbe-Moscow flight. It also stressed that, according to the conclusion of the Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan, the seized coin of the times of Tsarist Russia has historical, cultural, museum and numismatic value.

The customs service stressed that according to the norms of the legislation of Tajikistan, the illegal export of coins having such value from the country is prohibited.

Meanwhile, according to the expert of the National Bank of Tajikistan, the value of the coin carried does not exceed 300 Russian rubles.
