Tajikistan and South Korea legalize migration. How it will be?

Asia-Plus

Tajikistan and South Korea are preparing an intergovernmental agreement to legalize labor migration in Korea. Quotas will not be, migrants will travel to this country according to the needs of Korean companies.

Tajik citizens still do not have the opportunity to legally work in South Korea as labor migrantsSince South Korea accepts migrants solely in accordance with the intergovernmental agreement.

Now there are 16 such countries, and Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are among our region. Citizens of Tajikistan received a tourist visa and stayed illegally in this country.

According to a source in the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the population, negotiations are underway with South Korea. With a positive scenario of affairs, already from the new 2018 this country will receive Tajik migrants.

 How it will be?

A certain quota will not exist. Our compatriots will travel to South Korea, according to the needs of Korean companies. That is, there will be a need for 100,000 people, we can send 100,000. If 5,000, then as many, said a source in the Ministry of Labor.

According to him, migrants who will go to South Korea will have to take a course of 45 hours of classes in Tajikistan, which will include studying the basic words of the Korean language, history and culture of this country.

On separate specialties, the Ministry of Labor can also conduct preparatory courses for migrants.

According to preliminary data, remuneration of labor of migrants will exceed $ 2,000, and the employer will provide housing. "However, we will not send unprepared migrants," the source said..

The higher the qualification, the easier

According to available information, about 40 Tajik citizens work in South Korea today. However, illegal migrants are hard – they are involved in harvesting, moonlighting in the kitchen, in a restaurant, handymen at the factory, porters, etc. That is, they work in harsh conditions, for 10-12 hours a day. And if they are detained, then they need to pay a fine in a large amount, and they face deportation for 5 years.

Meanwhile, the situation with qualified personnel is different. Highly qualified citizens of Tajikistan can receive a work visa at the invitation of companies. This is mainly specialists in the field of IT, automotive, home appliances, construction. Knowledge of the language is an advantage and can affect the level of pay.

An exception exists for Tajik citizens who are ethnic Koreans. They can apply for a working visa category H2 or for an F4 visa (it is not working, but it allows you to work in certain areas). Ethnic Koreans receive this visa in accordance with special programs aimed at attracting their compatriots abroad.

In general, citizens of Tajikistan can get a business visa, a student visa and a visa H2 (working) if they are ethnic Koreans.

At the same time, those who have Russian citizenship can enter Korea without a visa for 60 days, and in general can be in South Korea 180 days a year.
