By 2020, the Tajik-Chinese trade will increase to $ 3 billion

Tajikistan and China intend to increase the trade turnover to $ 3 billion by 2020, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan (CCI RT) Sharif Said said during the business forum of the business circles of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Chinese province of Hainan in Dushanbe, NIAT “Khovar”.

According to Sharif Said, since the signing of the Treaty on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between Tajikistan and the People's Republic of China, trade has increased severalfold, interregional and investment cooperation has expanded, and there have been some successes in bilateral trade. The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan said that the countries actively cooperate within the framework of the SCO.

 The complementarity of the PRC and Tajikistan not only in the hydropower sector, but also in the field of science and technology, agriculture, transport, power engineering, engineering, construction, mining, light and processing industries provides the opportunity to expand the volume of mutual trade and improve the quality of economic interaction.

According to Said, the Tajik government has created favorable conditions for supporting market structures, the investment climate, and the development of the private sector. The country has large investment projects, the implementation of which is possible only with the involvement of external capital. In addition, the presence of the richest natural resources is a competitive advantage of our country. The Tajik market is of great interest to investors in China.

Cross-border trade is an important component of economic relations. The “Kulma-Karasu” checkpoint is functioning successfully. A key aspect of building cooperation with Chinese partners is to facilitate trade and strengthen business contacts between the two countries through the organization of exhibition and congress events .

The business forum was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the China International Trade Promotion Committee of Hainan City. A representative Chinese delegation with the participation of 25 large Chinese companies was led by the Chairman of the China International Trade Promotion Committee of Hainan, Lee Judze. From the Tajik side at the business forum there were representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the country, about one hundred leading domestic entrepreneurs interested in cooperation with China.
