In the capital of Tajikistan on social transport will operate a single card, which will be able to pay for travel in trolleybuses and buses.
Currently, card readers – validators – are installed in 60 buses and trolleybuses that run along the central routes of the Tajik capital. At the second stage, the validators will install at 180 trolleybuses and buses, Ulugbek Karimov, the Citycard project director, told reporters.
According to him, installing only one validator cost $ 350, but this amount did not take into account other equipment necessary to synchronize payments with banking systems. The total cost of the project Karimov refused to name. He added that the equipment was imported from Belarus, Germany and Thailand.
According to the first deputy mayor of Dushanbe, Kurbon Saidzoda, according to the decision of the capital administration, the project will be financed within the framework of interaction of state subsidiaries and the private sector at the expense of LLC "Avesto".
Before launching a single transport card, in Dushanbe will set up Citycard sales outlets.
"So far, 60 such special points will be installed, in which you can buy a card directly at the stop. Each cardholder will also be able to replenish it using a phone or a special terminal. Tourists will be able to purchase a card for a one-time or three-time trip from the driver or the controllerWe have not yet abandoned the controllers, until the system is fully implemented. In addition, at first they will show passengers how to use the travel cards", – Ulugbek Karimov said.
According to him in social transport there will be no special turnstiles, security guards. "It will be primarily on the conscience of the passengers, but the audit control commission will also work, which will check the passengers, those who did not pay for the fare will be fined", – Karimov said.
According to the project developers, there will be six different tariffs for a single transport card. "The cardholders will be able to choose which fare ticket is more convenient for them. But while this is all in development", – Ulugbek Karimov said.
"The transition to electronic payment and control will be carried out in three stages, now the first stage has been completed, and we are working on the second stage. The last stage is planned to be completed by the end of the year ", – Kurbon Saidzoda added.
The city council also promises benefits for travel for pensioners and veterans.
On the question of journalists why the transport card is called Citycard, and not on the Tajik "Korti Shahri", Ulugbek Karimov explained that it would be more convenient for foreign guests. “In Tajikistan, a separate Committee for the development of tourism was created, our country plans to attract more and more tourists, and accordingly it is necessary to introduce an international word that would be understandable to all visitors. "Korti Shahri" in translation means Citycard” – Ulugbek Karimov added.
