President derides quality of school uniforms sown by domestic producers

Date:

President Emomali Rahmon has harshly criticized the quality of school uniforms sown in Dushanbe, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

His criticism, directed at domestic producers, reportedly came today morning during an official opening ceremony of a new building of Secondary School # 31 in Dushanbe.

The president, in particular, noted that Dushanbe-based enterprises had sown 3.4 million somoni worth of 75,000 school uniforms over the first six months of this year.  “Meanwhile, this year’s requirements of Dushanbe in school uniforms are 110,000,” the head of state noted.

“School students and their parents are dissatisfied with the quality and design of school uniforms sown in Dushanbe, and therefore, the most part of them is still stored in warehouses,” Rahmon noted.

In this connection, the president ordered the Dushanbe mayor’s office to tighten control over design and quality of school uniforms.

Recall, Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali last week signed regulations obligating senior representatives of the Dushanbe mayor’s office and heads of Dushanbe’s districts to check quality of school uniforms being sold at the school fairs in the city.  Besides, the mayor ordered relevant municipal bodies to get domestic producers to take part in the school fairs that kicked off in Dushanbe on August 6 and will run through August 31.   The school fairs are being held in all Dushanbe’s districts.
