Rehabilitation of Dushanbe’s Kuli Javonon Park reportedly financed by prime minister

Asia-Plus

Rehabilitation of Kuli Javonon (Youth Lake) in Dushanbe has been financed by Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda, a source in the Tajik government told Asia-Plus Wednesday afternoon.

The source, however, refrained from disclosing the amount spent for rehabilitation of Kuli Javonon Park.

Recall, Kuli Javonon (Youth Lake) Park reopened on August 28 after major repairs.  President Emomali Rahmon, Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda and Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali attended an official opening ceremony of the renovated Kuli Javonon Park Tuesday evening.

The work on improvement of park began in 2017.  More than 500 rare decorative trees and more than 4,000 seasonal flowers have reportedly been planted, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

The park occupies the area of 3.5 hectares, and during the major repairs, more than 15,000 square meters have been paved with tiles and trees have been planted on 18,000 square meters of the park territory.

267 illumination pillars of different size, ranging from 3 to 12 meters, have been installed in the park.

The park has a large music fountain and two small fountains as well as the parking lot for 70 vehicles.

The park also has a children’s playground and offers boating (the park now has twenty modern boats).

Kuli Javonon (formerly Kuli Komsomol – Komsomol Lake) Park was built in 1940.  Since that time, the park has been renovated several times but major repairs have been carried out for the first time.

Besides, Qohir Rasoulzoda has financed rehabilitation of five kilometers of a road in his home village – Khistevarz jamoat in Bobojon-Ghafourov district, Sughd province.

Qohir Rasoulzoda (born as Abduqohir Abdurasoulovich Nazirov on March 8 1961) has served as the Prime Minister of Tajikistan since November 23, 2013, replacing Oqil Oqilov.  Prior to this he had served as Governor of Sughd Province since December 2006.  From January 2000 to December 2006, he served as Minister of Land Reclamation and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Rasoulzoda is a member of the ruling People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan.
