The Prosecutor General's Office of Tajikistan completed the investigation of the criminal case against Huseyn Abdusamadov, the head of the group, who attacked foreign cyclists in Dangara. He threatens life imprisonment.
Huseyn Abdusamadov was prosecuted under Article 104, Part 2 (Murder with Special Cruelty), under Article 179 part 2 (Terrorism), as well as several other articles, a source in the Prosecutor General's Office reports.
«He has a "bouquet of articles", including terrorism and murder», – the source said. However, he refused to comment on the details and to name other articles.
According to the source, the investigation is completed and in the near future the case will be sent to court.
As early as August 1, the Prosecutor General's Office of Tajikistan stated that in fact an attack on foreign tourists in Dangara district initiated a criminal case under the articles "terrorism" and "murder". The criminal case under these articles was instituted literally on the day the crime was committed, the General Prosecutor's Office of the country reported.
Huseyn Abdusamadov on September 4 in the TV program "Girdob", prepared by the State National Security Committee of Tajikistan and shown in the evening on the state television, admitted that he was leading a group that attacked cyclists in Dangara and told about the details and involvement of the IRP in this act of terrorism.
Recall, on July 29, to a group of foreign cyclists a collision was made on the territory of the jamoat Sebiston Dangara district. As a result, four tourists were killed: Two US citizens, one Dutch citizen and one Swiss. Two more tourists were injured. A citizen of France, who fell behind the group did not suffer.
The crime was committed by residents of the Pyanj district Huseyn Abdusamadov, Asomiddin Majidov, Zafar Safarov and residents of Nurek Yusupov brothersAs a result of the special operation, four of them were liquidated, and Abdusamadov was detained. July 31, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan issued a statement that members of the banned Islamic Revival Party were involved in the attack. On the same day, responsibility for the attack was assumed by the group "Islamic State" by publishing a video. But the Tajik Prosecutor General's Office said that the attack on tourists was carried out by members of the IRP, and the oath to the "Islamic state" was a cover for the removal of suspicion.
For the murder of two or more persons and a crime of a terrorist nature committed by a group of persons, the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan provides for 15 years of the colony to life imprisonment.
