This year, heating season is expected to begin in some districts of Dushanbe in November.
“Heating season is expected to start on November 1 but if the weather is warm, the heating season will begin on November 15,” an official source in the country’s energy sector told Asia-Plus in an interview.
Two lines of the coal-powered Dushanbe-2 combined heat and power (CHP) plant are capable of generating 400 MW of electricity and 360 gigacalories of heat.
Besides, the Dushanbe-1 CHP plant will begin operating on Uzbek natural gas after years of outage, the source added.
