Snowfall has been continuing in mountain areas of Tajikistan for already second day. In Khorog (Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region – GBAO), the snow cover depth has reached nearly half a meter.

Snowfall has hit some other mountain areas of the country as well. Sleet has been continuing in Asht district (Sughd province) for already second day.
According to data from the Hydrometeorology Agency (Hydromet), there is risk of avalanches in the western part of GBAO and southern flanks of the Hisor Range on January 11.
