Top manager of real estate development company gest lengthy jail term for fraud

Top manager of Soyuz-Sokhtmon LTD (Dushanbe-based real estate development company) has got a lengthy jail term though he has returned money to his customers.

A court in Dushanbe’s Sino district has sentenced M. Dodokhonov, director-general of Soyuz-Sokhtmon LTD, to eleven years in prison.  The sentence has followed his conviction on charge of large-scale fraud.

According to the press center of the Prosecutor-General’s Office, Dodokhonov took 147,225 U.S. dollars and 167,883 somoni from eleven residents of Dushanbe promising to give them apartments in a newly-erected residential building in neighborhood 83.  

However, he did not fulfill his promises and spent the received money for his own needs, the press center says.

Dodokhonov was jailed though he had returned money to the customers.
