The deputy head of the Roudaki power distribution network, Sayjamol Mirakov is suspected of a large-scale embezzlement of funds received from electricity consumers.
According to the anticorruption agency press center, Mirakov has misappropriated more than 146,000 somoni paid by Mavlono Rumi LLC for electricity consumption.
Mirakov is reportedly accused of causing especially large damage to the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) Roudaki Power Distribution Network.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Mirakov under the provisions of Article 245 (4) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code. If convicted, Mirakov could face up to 12 years in prison or a fine of 1.2 million somoni.
