6,378 crimes reported in Sughd province last year.

Sughd chief prosecutor Habibullo Vohidov yesterday held a meeting in Khujand to review the results of the past year’s work. 

Speaking at the meeting, Vohidov noted that 6,378 crimes were reported in the Sughd province last year, which is 295 cases more than in 2018. 

92 percent of all the crimes reported in the province last year were reportedly solved.  

“In 2019, prosecutor’s offices in the Sughd province received more than 11,300 applications,” said Vohidov.  “3,700 of them were considered and 665 were met,” Vohidov said.  

In this context, 375 people were brought to justice, 298 illegal decisions of inquiry an investigation bodies were annulled, 129 administrative and thee criminal proceedings were instituted.
