Nearly a third of people relocating to Uzbekistan in Q1 2020 are from Tajikistan

140 people have reportedly left Tajikistan for Uzbekistan over the first three months of this year.  

According to data from the State Committee for Statistics of Uzbekistan, 490 peoples have relocated to Uzbekistan from various countries over the first three months of this year.

The majority of them have reportedly arrived in Uzbekistan from Kazakhstan – 167 people.  Kazakhstan is followed by Tajikistan – 140 people (28.6 percent), Russia – 96 people, and Kyrgyzstan – 35 people.  

Meanwhile, 1,906 people have left Uzbekistan for other countries over the same three-month period.  The majority of them have moved to Kazakhstan – 1,234 people.  Kazakhstan is followed by Russia – 557 people, Kyrgyzstan and Israel – 18 people each, and Tajikistan – 15 people (0.8 percent).
