Two streets and three neighborhood units of Tajik capital will be left without electricity for several hours today

Rolling blackouts have been resumed in some areas of Dushanbe in connection with routine maintenance work on power stations in these areas, according to the Dushanbe electricity supply network.

“Today, electricity supply will be cut off to Rahmon-Nabiyev and Sevastopolskaya streets from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in connection with routine maintenance work,” said an official source at the Dushanbe electricity supply network.

“Besides, electricity supply will be cut off to Bunyodkor, Kalinin and Zafar neighborhood units,” the source added.

This year, the practice of rolling blackouts in Dushanbe was suspended in April and resumed today.

Meanwhile, Barqi Tojik (Tajik power utility company) says it will impose restrictions on the supply of electricity due to a dramatic drop in water levels in a reservoir powering the Nurek hydroelectric power plant.
