Members of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament have unanimously voted for ratification of an agreement on construction of electrical equipment manufacturing plant in Dushanbe that was signed by the Government of Tajikistan and Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) Tajikgidroelektromontazh (Hydro Power Installation) in February this year.

A regular sitting of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, presided over by its head, Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda, took place on April 7.

Presenting the agreement to lawmakers, the First Deputy Head of the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest), Sharaf Sheralizoda, said that Tajikgidroelektromontazh plans to spend 5 million U.S. dollars or implementation of that project.

The enterprise that will be built in an area of 7 hectares is expected to be introduced into operation in September next year and it will create 200 new jobs.

The enterprise will produce elevators, electricity meters and solar water heaters, Sheralizoda said.
