Tajik President Emomali Rahmon will visit Moscow on May 8 to attend the Victory Parade that will take place there on May 9.

On May 8, Emomali Rahmon will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss cooperation, a source within the Tajik government told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, Rahmon and Putin will also discuss ways to break deadlock in relationships between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan regarding delimitation and demarcation of the disputed stretches of the mutual border.

Recall, a dispute over irrigation water triggered a clash between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan last week that quickly spread along the border, resulting in the death of more than 50 people — the worst such incident in the region since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
