Health ministry claims that no coronavirus-linked deaths detected in Tajikistan during the new wave of COVID-19

Asia-Plus

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population (MoHSPP) continues insisting that no coronavirus-linked deaths have been detected in Tajikistan since the new wage of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), which  was officially confirmed in the country on June 21.

And this despite the fact that to-date, various media outlets in Tajikistan have published reports about at least 10 coronavirus-linked deaths in the country.

In addition, most of them were in the Pervy Sovetsky hospital or in the infectious diseases hospital in Dushanbe’s Zarafshon neighborhood unit.

Currently, patients with symptoms of COVID-19 in Dushanbe are admitted only to these two medical facilities.

The Health Ministry, however, claims that the confirmed number of the coronavirus-linked deaths remains the same in the country – 90.   They cite pneumonia as the cause of death of other people.
