Overt first nine months of this year, 229 new industrial enterprises have been introduced into operation in Tajikistan, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT).
A source a MoINT says the new enterprises have produced a total of 363 million somonis (equivalent to more than 30 million U.S. dollars) worth of goods over the reporting period.
These 229 enterprises and workshops have reportedly created 2,067 new jobs.
Over the same nine-month period, more than 3.8 billion somonis (equivalent to 340 million U.S. dollars) have been invested in Tajikistan’s industrial sector, the source noted.
According to him, Tajik industrial enterprises have developed 35 new types of products over the reporting period, including electric water heaters, vacuum cleaners, cast aluminum containers, washing machines, skateboards, laundry detergents, TV sets, tableware made of natural stone, aluminum foils, polyethylene films, plasticizers, household electric stoves and some other products.
According to the forecasts of the MoINT, it is planned to increase the number of new enterprises and workshops to 292 until the end of this year.
According to the statistical data from the MoINT, 2,360 industrial enterprises have been registered in Tajikistan. 1,891 enterprises (80.2 percent) have operated completely this year, 374 enterprises (15.8 percent) have carried out seasonal work, and there were 95 enterprises, or 4.0 percent of the overall number, that have not been in operation this year.
