Two people died in a head-on collision on the Dushanbe-Khujand highway

Two people were killed, two were injured as a result of a head-on collision of two Opel-Astra cars on the Dushanbe-Khujand highway. A fatal accident occurred the day before, on October 4, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan reports.

Opel-Astra driven by 37-year-old resident of Khujand Kamol Kayumov drove into the oncoming lane and made a head-on collision with a car of the same brand driven by 40-year-old resident of Dushanbe Orzukul Zulfonov.

As a result of injuries, the driver of Opel-Astra Kamol Kayumov and his passenger, 33-year-old resident of B. Gafurov district Bahriddin Jhumaev, died at the scene.

The driver of the second car and his 38-year-old passenger, a resident of the Devashtich district, Bakhodir Kuziev, were injured and were hospitalized.

An investigation into the accident is underway, the press service of the law enforcement agency reports.
