President orders 20 percent rise in public sector wages version

A decree signed by President Emomali Rahmon in February this year provides for raising public sector wages, pensions and allowances [scholarships] for students by 20 percent from July 1, 2023. 

The decision is reportedly aimed at strengthening the level of population's social security and increasing the minimum wage, public sector wage, pensions and allowances [scholarships].

With the aim of improving the populations' living standards, raising the role of wages and the level of social security, the president decrees to raise wage rates of the staff of institutions and organizations, which are funded from the state budget (education, science, health care and security protection), by 20 percent from July 1, 2023. 

The current allowances [scholarships] for students (with the exception of presidential grants and allowances of students of higher military schools and the Interior Ministry Academy) are to be raised by 20 percent from July 1, 2023.

The basic pension will be increased by 20 percent and set at 250.00 somonis from July 1, 2023.

The insurance pensions, set on the basis of the RT Law “On Insurance and State Pensions”, will be indexed to the inflation rate of the last two years by 16 percent .

The rates of other existing pensions, set on the basis of the country’s laws “On Pension Maintenance of Citizens and “On Insurance and State Pensions”, will be raised by 20 of the basic pension equal to 250.00 somonis.
