Mawlavi Ghulam Nabi Sameem, the head of border and tribal affairs department of Taliban for northern Jawzjan province reportedly spoke about the challenges local residents faced along the border.

According to Khaama Press, the Taliban authorities promised their Uzbek counterparts that they will not allow insurgent groups to use Afghan soil against Uzbekistan.

Taliban officials did not provide further details on what they meant by “border issues”, however, several rockets have reportedly been launched to Uzbekistan over the past two years. The Islamic State (IS) terror group militants reportedly claimed responsibility for the attacks.
