Russia and Tajikistan to train specialists in preventing extremism among youth

Asia-Plus

The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Tajikistan have signed an agreement on training of specialists in the field of preventing extremism among youth.

Citing the RANEPA press center, TASS reported on March 29 that the agreement provides for developing a joint training program “Ways to Prevent Youth from Becoming Involved in Extremist and Terrorist Groups”.

“The main objective of the program is in defeating terrorism in the bud, creating the preconditions to ensure that there are no manifestations of terrorism in principle,” RANEPA Pro-Rector Andrey MArgolin was quoted as saying.

“The Academy already has positive experience in implementing such educational programs in Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan,” Margolin said.  начнется уже в мае 2024 года, первый набор составит 30 человек.

Students are reportedly recruited by Tajikistan's Academy of Public Administration jointly with the RANEPA.

It is to be noted that Tajikistan has been making significant efforts to counter terrorism, religious extremism, and illicit drug smuggling over the last few years. To this end, it has adopted national strategies and concepts.
