New chief of the Interior Ministry Criminal Investigation Directorate appointed

Date:

The 47-year-old Colonel Tohir Barotzoda, who had previously served as the Frist Deputy Head of the Interior Ministry Criminal Investigation, has been appointed to head this Directorate, replacing the 38-year-old Major-General Shohrukh Saidzoda.

Prior to this, Barotzoda had headed the department for disclosure of illegal property actions within the Criminal Investigation Directorate.

He had also served as chief of the police station at the Dushanbe International Airport and deputy chief of the police department in the city of Hisor.

Recall, the 38-year-old Shohrukh Saidov, who is known as close friend to President Rahmon’s son, Rustam Emomali, was appointed to head the Dushanbe Police Directorate in early June.
