Tajikistan ranks 56th among 142 countries in the Hologic Global Women's Health Index’s 2025 edition.

The company Hologic has published its Global Women’s Health Index, which surveyed 146,000 women across 142 countries and territories.  Tajikistan ranked 56th, and according to the authors, the country has shown improvements in some areas.

Data for the study was collected throughout 2023 and analyzed in 2024.  The index takes into account factors such as prevention, emotional health, basic needs, and individual health.

Tajikistan received an overall score of 56 out of a possible 100, dropping one point compared to the previous ranking.

Index includes five key indicators:

  • Preventive care – 19 (the lowest score)
  • Emotional health – 74
  • Health and safety perception – 87 (the highest score)
  • Basic needs – 53
  • Individual health – 74

As noted in the section on Tajikistan, despite the low score in the preventive care category, the country has shown positive developments in this area.  This indicator is based on whether women had screenings in the past year for high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, and sexually transmitted diseases.

Among Central Asian countries, Uzbekistan ranked 34th with an overall score of 60, Kyrgyzstan ranked 49th with a score of 58, and Kazakhstan ranked the highest in the region at 13th place, with a score of 63

Taiwan topped the global ranking with a score of 68, while Afghanistan was at the bottom with an overall score of 30.
