Saudi Arabia resumes issuing eVisa for nationals of Tajikistan

Saudi Arabia resumes issuing electronic tourist visa (eVisa) for nationals of Tajikistan starting June 12, according to the Saudi Embassy in Dushanbe.

It was noted that to apply for the visa Tajikistan nationals need to visit the official website – www.visitsaudi.com.

As it had been reported earlier, Saudi Arabia removed Tajikistan from the list of countries whose citizens obtain eVisa in late April this year due to preparations for the 2025 Hajj season.

As a representative of the Saudi Embassy told Asia-Plus at the time, Tajikistan remains a member of Group "A".  However, due to the need to resolve issues related to the Hajj, the issuance of tourist visas to Tajik citizens was temporarily suspended.

The embassy also added that after the Hajj season ends, the tourist visa system for Tajik citizens would be restored, and Tajikistan would reappear on the list of countries eligible for eVisa.

Saudi Arabia’s electronic tourist visa (eVisa) is valid for one year and allows tourists to stay in the country for up to 90 days.  This visa can be used for travel, leisure, visiting relatives, and performing Umrah.

In August 2023, Saudi Arabia simplified the visa procedure for citizens of Tajikistan and seven other countries, including Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, by including them in the eVisa system.

Meanwhile, media reports say Saudi Arabia has resumed issuing Umrah visas starting June 10, a day after the Hajj pilgrimage concluded.  This follows a temporary suspension of visa issuance during the Hajj period, which was aimed at easing congestion and ensuring safety. Pilgrims can now apply through official platforms like Nusuk or licensed travel agencies.

Over 1.6 million Muslims from more than 150 nations prayed in Mecca during the annual Islamic pilgrimage, the Saudi Arabian authorities said earlier.
