Rahmon appoints new officials in key ministries and agencies

President Emomali Rahmon, who is also the Head of the Government,  has made a series of high-level appointments across several government ministries and state agencies, including the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the State Energy Supervision Agency, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

During a working meeting with the newly appointed officials, which took place on July 25, Rahmon emphasized the importance of strengthening healthcare and social services, improving food security, and promoting the efficient use of water and energy resources.  He also stressed the need for integrating advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, into the public administration system.

The Tajik president’s official website notes that both experienced administrators and young professionals have been tapped for leadership roles, including positions as first deputies and deputies of various ministries and agencies.

 

Key appointments

  • Salomiddin Yusufi, how had previously served as head of the Department of Medical and Pharmaceutical Education and Human Resources at the Ministry of Health, has been appointed First Deputy Minister of Health, replacing Ghafour Muhsinzoda.
  • Khayrullo Habibullozoda, formerly head of Sughd Province’s Health Department, has been appointed Deputy Minister of Health, replacing Shodikhon Jamshed.

No official explanation was provided for the departures of Muhsinzoda and Jamshed, and it remains unclear whether they will be reassigned to other roles.

  • Farrukh Zayniddinzoda has been appointed First Deputy Director and Chief Engineer of the Rogun HPP Flood Zone Directorate, replacing Jamshed Sharifzoda, who was reassigned.
  • Zafar Safaralizoda has been named Deputy Minister of Justice.
  • Safarali Nazaozoda is the new Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
  • Qosim Okhun has been appointed Deputy Head of the Main Archival Department under the Government.

Rahmon also highlighted the urgent need to invest in training young professionals, equipping them with modern technological skills, foreign language proficiency, and broad knowledge to prepare them for leadership in a rapidly changing global environment.

He underlined that amid today’s complex geopolitical climate and security challenges, public officials must prioritize the national interests of an independent Tajikistan in both their service and ethics.
