Over the first six months of this year, Tajikistan has boosted its agricultural exports by 17.5% compared to the same period last year, earning nearly US$34 million, according to figures released by the Ministry of Agriculture during a news conference in Dushanbe on July 24.

From January to June, the country reportedly exported over 90,000 tons of agricultural goods—15,400 tons more than in the first half of 2024.  The bulk of the shipments included dried fruits, fresh vegetables, and fruits.

26 countries have imported Tajik agricultural products over the same six-month period.  According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 89% of Tajikistan’s agricultural products were delivered to CIS countries, and the remaining 11% of agricultural exports were shipped to non-CIS countries.

 Key export figures include:

  • Dried fruits: over 46,000 tons
  • Vegetables: 25,200 tons
  • Fruits: more than 15,000 tons
  • Nuts: over 1,500 tons
  • Chicory roots: over 2,000 tons
  • Beekeeping products: 4 tons, double the volume exported last year

The government projects steady growth in agricultural exports.  In 2026, fruit and vegetable exports are expected to reach 190,000 tons, with further increases to 202,000 tons in 2027 and 220,000 tons in 2028.

Special focus is being placed on expanding dried fruit exports, projected to hit 106,000 tons in 2026 and 137,000 tons in 2028.

Onion exports also show promising potential. With rising production levels, Tajikistan aims to export 35,000 tons of onions in 2026—up 7.2% from 2025.  That figure is expected to grow to 43,000 tons in 2028.
