Eskhata Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed a direct lending agreement, unlocking new opportunities for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the implementation of green and sustainable projects in Tajikistan, says press release issued by Eskhata Bank.
This marks the first direct financing from the ADB to a Tajik bank, underscoring the high level of trust from the international partner in Eskhata Bank and its leadership position in the market.
"It is a great honor for us to become the first financial institution in Tajikistan to receive direct financing from the ADB. This milestone opens new horizons for supporting MSMEs and promoting green financing, further strengthening Eskhata Bank’s position as a leader in innovative financial solutions," said Akmaljon Sayfiddinov, Chairman of the Board of Eskhata Bank.
The ADB has provided Eskhata Bank with a loan in the national currency equivalent to $10 million. The funds will be directed toward supporting entrepreneurs implementing environmentally friendly and energy-efficient technologies, as well as projects that reduce environmental impact and contribute to the development of a sustainable economy.
"We are pleased to begin a new phase of strategic cooperation with Eskhata Bank. Direct lending will significantly expand access to financing for businesses and serve as an important driver for the development of green initiatives in Tajikistan," emphasized Ko Sakamoto, Head of the ADB Office in Dushanbe.
Eskhata Bank continues to strengthen its role in sustainable development and innovative financing, providing modern solutions to entrepreneurs across the country and supporting projects that foster economic growth and environmental responsibility.
