Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Germany Marat Bakiyev handed over humanitarian assistance to the Batken oblast state administration. The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Germany reported it.

Russia's plan to open a second military base in Kyrgyzstan would destabilise the wider Central Asian region, Uzbekistan said late on Monday, exposing fresh divisions between Moscow and its ex-Soviet allies.

On 1 August, a hunting season opened in Turkmenistan. It will last until March 14 next year. Amateur hunting in compliance with all existing rules will be permitted for the entire season for such common species as doves, wolves and jackals.

Foreign investments to Kyrgyz economy have reached $152.7 million through the first quarter of 2009, the Kyrgyz Ministry for Economic Development and Trade reported Monday.

President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbaev congratulated Kurmanbek Bakiev on re-election. “I would like to congratulate you on re-election to the post of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic,” the message says.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov congratulated President Kurmanbek Bakiev with victory in the 23 July presidential elections.
