Tajik government has considered an additional budget (bujeti ilovagi) for 2007. The additional budget amounts to 272 million somonis and social spending will account for 65 percent (175 million somonis) of the additional budget allocations.
Tajik MPs have endorsed a bill requiring an amnesty on occasion of a National Accord Day. The declared amnesty will also apply to combatants in 1992-1997 civil war. However, the amnesty does not apply to persons serving sentences for serious crime or for killing two and more people, recidivists or those who committed crimes in prisons, as well as persons convicted on charges of terrorism, incitement of ethnic, racial, regional or religious enmity, high treason, armed mutiny, etc.
