DUSHANBE, January 11, 2013, Asia-Plus — A January 10 meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office, presided over by Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, reviewed the results of the past year’s work, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesperson for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, the meeting participants included First Deputy Prime Minister Matloubkhon Davlatov, heads of municipal agencies and imam-khatibs of Dushanbe’s Friday mosques.
Last year, 136 Dushanbe-based industrial enterprises increased production volumes 1.5 times compared to 2011.
61 new enterprises that were launched in the Tajik capital last year reportedly created 300 new jobs.
In 2012, Dushanbe’s external trade turnover amounted to 438.1 million U.S. dollars, which was 113.8 percent of the 2011 level.
Last year, Dushanbe reportedly exported a total of 5 million U.S. dollars worth of industrial goods.
