KULOB, October 16, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan is expected to launch new air routes to the Russian Federation staring from November – Kulob-Yekaterinburg and Kulob-Saratov. 

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Kulob airport director Alikhon Komilov said that an agreement on launching the flight Kulob-Yekaterinburg had already been reached, while negotiations on launching the air route from Kulob to Saratov were still under way.  

He further added that it could not be ruled out that another TU-154 and even Boeing-737 may appear at the Kulob airport.  

At present the Kulob airport offers one route to Russia – Kulob-Moscow (five weekly flights).  Over the first nine months of this year, the flight Kulob-Moscow has carried 29,742 passengers to Moscow, Komilov said.
