DUSHANBE, May 28, 2013, Asia-Plus — Five Tajik spinning companies, “Hima Textile”, “Nekoo Khujand”, “Olim Textile”, “Spitamen Textiles”, and “Tenta Kulob”, will represent Tajikistan at the 10th International Istanbul Yarn Fair from May 29 to June 1, 2013.
The International Trade Center (ITC) has organized the participation of the Tajik companies in this leading specialized exhibition with a large number of buyers and visitors from the region for the second year running.
According to press release issued by ITC Office in Tajikistan, the presence of the Tajikistan delegation at this fair is made possible by the ITC Trade Promotion Program in Tajikistan funded by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO). Same as it was in last year, 10th International Istanbul Yarn Fair once again will be concurrently held with ITM Texpo Eurasia 2013, 30th International Textile, Weaving, Spinning, Finishing, Knitting, Hosiery Machines, Related Industries & Chemicals Fair, and Hightex 2013, 5th International Technical Textiles & Non-Woven Fair.
Ms. Nargis Abdumajidova, national program associate from the International Trade Center in Tajikistan, who will accompany and guide the Tajik delegation throughout the fair, believes that “The International Istanbul Yarn Fair is an ideal event for visitors and exhibitors from the yarn industry. Visitors will get an overview of the options available and learn more about yarn product manufacturers and suppliers. It will be an excellent opportunity for Tajik textile companies to show and promote their products to a wide range of buyers (sales agents, wholesalers and retailers) from Turkey and other countries. The Tajik companies will gain access to new markets in Turkey – the world’s 3rd largest manufacturer.”
According to Mr. Saidmumin Kamolov, ITC Tajikistan National Program Manager, the exhibition can increase cooperation opportunities for Tajik spinning companies. Tajik companies achieved exceptional results from last year’s participation in the fair.
Last spring three Tajik companies made contracts for a total of more than one million USD through their participation in the fair.
Mr. Kamolov says: “Last year the Tajikistan stand had more than 270 visits during the four days of the fair. As a result of participation, “HIMA Textile” shipped yarn to Turkey, “Nekoo Khujand” found new partners in China, and “Olim Textile” strengthened its presence in the Turkish market. Taking into account the experience we gained from last year and the increased number of visitors to the fair, I believe that our companies will return home with valuable contracts this time too.”
Hosting more than 25,000 visitors from around 50 countries and about 400 exhibitors from different countries, the International Istanbul Yarn Fair acts as a meeting point for sector professionals. The exhibition displays cotton yarn, textile machinery, fabrics, animal yarn, textile pigment, clothing, textile products, fibers yarns & threads and much more. Tajik participants believe that this participation will open up new opportunities for companies, which already export yarn to Turkey, as well as companies hoping to export their products. Mr. Khayyom Kulov from “HIMA Textile” says, “I believe that the exhibition will be very useful and beneficial for us. Last year’s participation at the fair was very useful for our company. There is high demand for our product in the region and the fair will give us the perfect opportunity to establish direct business linkages and partnerships with potential clients and to diversify our orders. We can also get a lot of useful information about modern equipment and machinery, as well as lab equipment used in the textile industry.”
The overall objective of the Trade Promotion Program in Tajikistan is to contribute to the sustainable expansion and diversification of SMEs’ exports in Tajikistan, by increasing the competitiveness of the textile and clothing industry and improving the quality management infrastructure of the country. This project is funded by the Government of Switzerland through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
