KULOB, September 29, 2008, Asia-Plus — Construction of a two-story building of Agroinvestbonk’s branch in Khatlon’s Baljuvon district is nearing completion, according to Sayfiddin Qadamov, head of Agroinvestbonk’s branch in the Kulob district.
He noted that the transaction department with the branch in Baljuvon is already operational and labor migrants working in the Russian Federation currently remit some $40,000-$50,000 per month to the bank’s branch in Baljuvon.
“However, local residents still may obtain loans only in the Kulob branch,” said Qadamov, “This problem will be solved in November and all banking transactions will be conducted in Baljuvon.”
“In the Khovaling district, local authorities have already allotted lad for construction of Agroinvestbonk’s branch,” Qadamov said, noting that the Khovaling branch will bring a total number of Agroinvestbonk’s branches in Khatlon’s Kulob region to ten.
Agroinvestbonk is one of largest commercial banks in Tajikistan. Founded in 1992, Agroinvestbonk, with headquarters in Dushanbe, has main branches in Khorog, Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa and 57 other branches across the republic.
